The implementation lives in cli/build/list/__main__.py; this package re-exports its public API so from cli.build.list import ... works.

cli.build.list.find_roles(roles_dir: str)

Return sorted list of role names under roles_dir.

cli.build.list.main()

cli.build.list.write_roles_list(roles, out_file)

Write the list of roles to out_file as JSON.
